What happens when you disable Simple Answers Only

I have used your answers module and it works great. The only think which i am currently bothered is every time someone need to add an answer they need to click "Add an answer" link which most of users seem to be confused with. I see a lot of comments on forums and other post types which does not required a second level of action. The users basically need to see the comments/answers box right a way.

Now i have been using simpleanswers before so if i disable it now, will that delete all the answers and simpleanswers data created in drupal. I am afraid of this change will effect my work.

Can you please confirm what would change if i disable the simpleanswers option and not the question option. I would like to keep the question as it is. My idea is to keep question type and let comment as as answer field.
